Atelier Noiré was never meant to be fast. It began in 1987 with one handloom in Paris, France and a conviction that has not moved since: clothing should be made by hands that are paid well, from cloth that takes its time, in silhouettes that outlast the year they were bought.

Heritage First
We work with 120+ artisan families across India — weavers, dyers, zardozi embroiderers — and pay atelier rates, not factory rates. Their names travel with every garment.

Slow by Design
No seasons chased, no trends churned. A saree takes thirty days; a couture gown takes forty hours of draping. We schedule around the craft, never the other way.

Made to Outlive
Every piece is numbered, signed, and covered by a lifetime repair programme. The most sustainable garment is the one your daughter argues over.
The Years
How we got here
1987
Atelier Noiré begins as a single handloom in Paris, France.
1999
The first boutique opens — eleven sarees, one tailor, a queue down the lane.
2012
The atelier launches made-to-order couture, marrying handloom textile with modern drape.
2021
The artisan partnership reaches 120 families across six weaving clusters.
2026
Atelier Noiré goes global — same looms, same hands, new address.

The flagship,
by appointment
14 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, France. Private styling sessions run Tuesday through Sunday, eleven to seven. The doors close, the champagne is poured, and the hour is entirely yours.
